The Queen’s Gallery is an art gallery in Edinburgh, Scotland. It forms part of the Palace of Holyroodhouse complex. It was opened in 2002 by Queen Elizabeth II, and exhibits works from the Royal Collection.  It is open to the public daily. The Queen's Gallery stands on the site of a private chapel for Queen Victoria, which was destroyed in an air raid in 1940. At the suggestion of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, it was redeveloped as a gallery for the Royal Collection and today, is home to changing exhibitions. Every time I visit London I make sure I dedicate at least an hour for a visit to the Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace, and I’m never disappointed. With multiple new exhibits annually, drawn from the Queen’s Royal Collection, this small gallery of 7 rooms provides a regal.

I previously mentioned this in my Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum post where we were fortunate to see some of da Vinci’s drawings at that exhibit. However, I am quite thrilled about The Queen’s Gallery exhibition as it marks the 500th anniversary of the death of the master Renaissance artist. Russia: Royalty & the Romanovs opens at the Queen’s Gallery on the 9th November 2018. The exhibition will run until Sunday the 28th of Apr 2019.
